Lead-in lines can help bring the eye into the photo and make your shots much more interesting by helping to fill the foreground (Image 1 & 2, above). Lines are everywhere in the landscape, from walls to streams and from fences to paths (Image 3, above). Look out for them and make careful use of them to make your shots more interesting.
Lines do not even have to be real, they can be imagined ones, such as the top of a hedge or the pattern of a wave as it hits the shoreline.
