About This Course
At this most magical time of day, dusk photography allows most photographers to capture their first-ever 'wow' shot. This course teaches you all of the vital camera and location techniques you need to get amazing shots the first time
As soon as you finish the first Module of this course, all of your photographs will begin to look much better.
What kind of student takes this course?
The ideal student for this course is looking to gently ease themselves into using some key techniques and buttons that will help them improve all of their Dusk photographs. This course assumes that you have been attempting Program and Aperture Priority Modes, but not necessarily understanding why some effects work, and some do not. Our goal will be to connect the various dots you already have while showing you some simple, yet key Dusk techniques.
What past experience is needed?
Most students of this course will have only been using Auto or Program Mode up to this point. You might have been testing out Aperture Priory Mode with mixed success. The course does not require any prior knowledge of cameras or computers, and does not go into advanced modes such as Manual Mode.
Recommended Equipment
To get the most out of this course your camera needs to have Aperture and Shutter Priority modes, ideally an SLR or Mirrorless camera (see here for information on the different types of camera).
The course is also suitable for Bridge Cameras and high end Compact/Point & Shoot Cameras, as long as they have Aperture Priority Mode (A or Av).
If you wish to get the most out of the Software section, you will need to have any version of Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) installed on your desktop or laptop computer..
Learn key camera techniques
Through examples of dusk photography from around the world, you will learn how to research and identify special locations that are likely to result in great dusk shots. You will also learn the professional photographer's tips and techniques on how to set the camera up to ensure you get pin sharp shots every time.
In this special course you will also learn about how to use 'light trails' (the light from car headlights and tail lights) to add an extra special feel to any dusk or night shot.

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) this course covers many simple techniques that you can quickly use to enhance any dusk image. Emphasis is placed on enhancing the blue of a Blue Moment sky, while also dealing with bright highlights and dark shadows. This is also an ideal time to try using Raw Images, as the techniques are much the same as they are for Jpegs, but the quality is usually immeasurably higher, particularly in tricky lighting conditions.

COURSE OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, you will be able to understand and use many of the key buttons on your camera. You will also be well-prepared to take better shots in most situations, even in dark, tricky situations like night time and other low light indoor locations.

A note ABOUT OUR TEACHING METHODS First and foremost, we believe there are no stupid questions, just questions about things you do not understand. On our courses, you will never be made to feel silly for seeking answers or clarification, that is what you pay us for.
All of our courses are designed around common photography scenarios, either ones that you regularly find yourself in, or would like to find yourself in. Our teaching methodology is designed to show you how to take better pictures in every one of them. The content of all of our courses is developed to build on the previous week's tips. This approach allows you quickly and confidently to understand how to improve every photo you take.
We teach each of our courses in such a way that the knowledge you pick up can be easily spread into other areas of image taking. Photography, at its core, is about shutters, apertures, and ISO, but it is HOW you bring these together for each individual shot that matters.
