About This Course
For the majority of users, Photoshop Elements is more than enough for their image editing needs. In fact, although Adobe do not want you to know this, Elements IS Photoshop, just not with some of the shiny bells and whistles which most of us do not need anyway.
Instead of the "This tool has this effect - now find ways to use it" school of teaching, we have geared this course to match how most people want to work on their shots. What are the various tools for making skin better? What are the tools to lighten the sky? How do I seamlessly cut an element out of my picture?
Learn when these and other tools should be used, even learn when they should not be used!
Using Layers, masks, and brushes, this course shows you how to use Photoshop Elements® to make your photographs come out looking their best. At the end, your images will be of professional-level quality.

What kind of student takes this course?
The Elements Level 1 Course is aimed squarely at people who feel they are barely scratching the surface of image editing, but want to delve much deeper. They will have a keen desire to understand layers, masks, as well as color and tone adjustments.
What past experience is needed?
You will need to know how to find files on your computer, to open and save a file in another location, and to be able to download files from the likes of Dropbox and Google Drive.
Recommended Equipment
All of the techniques shown on this course apply from Elements 9 right through to the latest version. You will need to have Elements loaded onto your computer (laptop or desktop), and be ready to go. Please note, this course is not suitable for tablet users.

COURSE OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, you will be able to understand and use many of the key techniques in Elements. You will also be well-prepared to improve your images in every way.
Resources
High-Resolution original source files will be supplied to each student so you can work on the same photos that are in the notes and that the tutor is working on as well. We do this because sometimes the same effect can turn out slightly differently on different kinds of images. This can be confusing for those new to image editing. We believe this approach is a significant aid to learning what are very complex programmes.
