- Why are my night shots blurred?
Night photo taken with a hand held camera. The shutter speed is so long that your hand cannot keep the camera steady enough. |
Same photo taken with the camera on a steady surface. No movement in the camera means that the final shot is good and sharp |
Because low light photography uses such slow shutter speeds it is very important that the camera does not move at all during the exposure. Even your finger pressing on the shutter button may make the camera move or shake enough to blur the photo.
Place the camera on a steady surface such as a tripod or a wall. Use the built-in Self-Timer on your camera. which has a delay of 10 seconds. This means you will not be touching the camera when the shot is takenm thereby eliminating blur.
